Here I try to compile a list of everything I use and enjoy.
Drawing Supplies
Pencils with a variety of grades
Kneaded eraser - to pull off some graphite when you want to lighted up some spots
regular eraser
pencil sharpener
sketch pad with acid free paper
Stabilo pens
Blending stumps
Fixative - Preserve your drawing by preventing future smudges
Oil Painting Supplies
White/neutral artist tape (1/4 inch wide)
Paper towel ( I recommend Viva)
Drawing on canvas:
pencil and charcoal stick
link to grey palette paper, supposed to help you see your colors better than white paper.
Soap to clean brushes and hands - Pink Soap or brush cleaner
A brush cleaner jar like Silicoil
Jar or brush holder
Lots of options here. I've been using this one.
Gamsol by Gamblin oderless paint thinner/cleaner
Masters Palette Seal - keep your oils wet
using this seal and putting it in the fridge has them last extra long
You could also put your whole palette paper pad in here if you dont want to tape in an individual piece

Filbert, flat, round, liner

I've been happy with the Princeton SNAP series - affordable and feel nice.
Synthetic is the affordable way to go
Palette Knife
Stretched Canvas, Canvas Paper or Canvas Pads.
No specific recommendations here.
Paper is the cheapest, but also the flimsiest; Canvas pads aren't readily hangable, but I've put them in a picture frame and that seems to work.

Easel.
This is my easel. Works well. Some times wish it would be stiffer at holding certain orientations, but good for the price.
I also have this portable one (I think its this one; we got mine at a garage sale). Haven't used much outside but more when I want to work in a different part of the house :)

Love this light. Have had it for at least 4 years and will buy the same one if it ever fails.
